Weekly Workouts

Let’s talk about the end of my weekend. As you know, I had a great day on Saturday. On Sunday, I made a great brunch, relaxed for a bit, then went on my long run.

It was a pretty crap run, but sometimes you have those. I finished and I didn’t take any breaks, so I’m at least proud of that. However, after my run I was the grumpiest person ever. I ended up passing out on the couch for a lengthy afternoon nap and possibly waking up even more grumpy than before. Poor Andy. I am such a joy to live with.

Anyway, thanks to my ridiculous afternoon nap, I had the worst time sleeping last night and I woke up feeling less-than-refreshed this morning. Awesome.

But, it’s a bright, sunny day and if you try hard enough, you can almost feel a hint of spring. So I thought I’d do something a little cheery and plan my workouts for the next two weeks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Major excitement coming up around here: family coming to visit this weekend and NYC for my bachelorette party next weekend. I need to plan ahead so I don’t miss any training runs.

Here’s the plan:

Monday 2/27: Rest

Tuesday 2/28: 3 miles & (finally) a hot yoga class

Wednesday 2/29: 6 miles (Happy Leap Year!)

Thursday 3/1: Rest

Friday 3/2: 12 miles

Saturday 3/3: Rest/Walk

Sunday 3/4: 3 miles

Monday 3/5: 6 miles & Girls on the Run begins!

Tuesday 3/6: 3 miles

Wednesday 3/7: Rest

Thursday 3/8: 13.1 miles & leave for NYC (and pass out on the plane)

As you can see, it’s going to be a busy (but super fun!) next two weeks. I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

Part of the reason for sharing my workout schedule is to hold myself accountable. Now that it’s public information, I have to do it. Right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hold me to it & feel free to share your workouts in the comments. Have a great sunny afternoon, friends!

A Lovely Saturday

Hi guys! How’s your weekend going? It’s an absolutely beautiful day here so I’m about to head out for my long run in a few minutes.

It was freezing cold and windy yesterday so I pushed my run to today. I’m glad I did because 45 & sunny beats 20, snowy & windy any day!

And, I was busy having the best day yesterday hanging out with some college friends ๐Ÿ™‚

First, I went to a free yoga class in Cleveland, followed by a delicious brunch, with my dear friend and old roommate, Finn. Complete with a blood orange mimosa and pulled chicken tacos. We went to Sweet Melissa’s in Rocky River and I would absolutely recommend it. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the service was super fast.

Even though we only live 30 minutes apart, Finn and I don’t see each other nearly enough. It was so fun to catch up, eat great food, and get our yoga on.

Plus, check out this view:

I’ll be moving in soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

After my time with Finn, I headed to my friend Aileen’s (my running buddy) for a Mary Kay party hosted by our dear friend Chris. Chris, Aileen, and I lived on the same floor freshman year and spent nearly every day together. I also don’t see them nearly enough so it was another great reunion!

Aileen had a great spread of pizza, veggies, pretzels & hummus, and cupcakes. Plus some adult beverages ๐Ÿ˜‰

I made up a big plate of everything:

I had such a great time chatting, eating, and trying all of the Mary Kay products. I use some of the makeup and skincare products but I’ve never been to a party and it was so fun! I think this means I’m officially an adult- getting invited to makeup parties.

Baker East reunion, complete with about 15 different kinds of makeup on my face.

I bought a few items and then headed home after a busy, but fun, day. Being an adult is tiring, for sure.

I love that even though I don’t see these girls as much as I’d like, we pick up right where we left off last time and always have a blast together. I really made the best friends at Ohio State and I am so thankful to have them in my life ๐Ÿ™‚

Time to go soak up the (cold) sunshine then get some homework done. Fun Saturdays = Work-filled Sundays. Yuck!

Have a great day โค

A Delicious Brunch

How’s your afternoon going? A little working, homeworking, napping, and getting ready for night class over here.

Thursdays can be a little rushed, as you may know, because I have two classes in the late afternoon/night. I generally don’t work on Thursdays so I took advantage of that time off today to make a little brunch for Andy and I.

Okay, we ate this at 9:30am, but since it was my second breakfast I’m calling it brunch ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just a simple meal of hash browns, eggs, and fresh strawberries. What made it extra special, though, was that I made homemade hash browns.

It was super simple- I peeled and chopped 3 medium-sized russet potatoes, heated (a lot) of oil in a cast-iron pan on the stove, and fried the potatoes until they were crispy & browned on the outside and soft on the inside. Once finished, I sprinkled on a generous amount of salt.

Not exactly health food, but these were so good and such a special treat on a Thursday morning!

Switching gears a bit, let’s talk about my workouts.

If you’ve been wondering what happened to running this week- wonder no more. I stopped. Like I said, I’ve pretty much been sick alllll week. 1. I don’t deal well with being sick because I never get sick 2. I’ve had horrible stomach pain all week which pretty much made running impossible.

Thankfully, I feel much better today! Hopefully I don’t jinx myself, but the stomach pain is gone. So weird. Anyway, I decided to take one more day off to let my body fully heal, which is a novel concept in my life, but I’ll be back on tomorrow.

I can’t wait to finally run again ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes all it takes is a little virus to make us appreciate our health!

Well, off to class for me. Luxurious brunches can’t last all day ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a good night guys!
